Bishiop Frank J. Caggiano re-establishes Bishop's Mass and Communion Breakfast for Business Leaders/Professionals; Mr. Robert A. Nalewajek, Executive Vice President, past president and Founder, CAPP-USA, will be guest speaker at the "2019 Pinstripe Mass for Business and Finance Leaders," March 24th, at St. Matthew Church, Norwalk, Connecticut.
Bishop Frank Caggiano will celebrate the 9 a.m. Pinstripe Mass for Business and Finance Leaders at St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Avenue, Norwalk, Connecticut, on Sunday, March 24, 2019; Breakfast will immediately follow with an address by Robert A. Nalewajek on the topic, "Applying Catholic Social Teaching at Work and in the Public Square: Why it's Our Job." The event is sponsored by the Diocese of Bridgeport, CAPP-USA and Legatus.
Bishop Caggiano stated, "I am delighted to renew this effort in continuing to engage with business and finance leaders, as well as those in the public sector, to ensure the social dimension of economic activity is effectively promoted."
The inaugral Bishop's Mass for Business Leaders was held on October 15, 2006, sponsored by CAPP-USA and Fairfield University's Center for Faith and Public Life with the stated mission, "...to increase the awareness, understanding and implementation of Catholic Social Teaching (CST) so participants in the public arena are well prepared to engage in an active and constructive dialogue about important issues of the day." The Business Leaders' Mass and Communion Breakfast was an annual event in the Diocese of Bridgeport from 2006 to 2016.
In his May 26, 2018, address at the 25th Anniversary of the Centesimus Annus Pro Pontifice Foundation, Pope Francis stated, "Dear friends, by sharing your own knowledge and expertise, and by making known the richness of the Church's social doctrine, you seek to form the consciences of leaders in the political, social and economic sectors."
