A Consistent Answer to \u201cWhat is Pro-Life?\u201d<\/span><\/h2>\n
Claims that the Catholic Church’s position on<\/span> (abortion)<\/a> is new or has changed (or are changeable) are false and misleading. The Church has always taught<\/strong> that to be \u201cpro-life\u201d is to defend life as sacred from conception to natural death.<\/span><\/p>\nThe Church has consistently taught abortion is a tragedy.<\/span><\/p>\nWhen Catholics profess life is sacred \u201cfrom womb to tomb\u201d, we really mean it!<\/span><\/p>\n\n![\"What](\"https:\/\/capp-usa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/woman-child-boy-mother-family-smile-trees.jpg\")

What is pro-life? It is the defense of the dignity of the human person from conception to natural death.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
The need to be \u201cpro-life\u201d did not begin with Roe v. Wade nor did it end after Dobbs v. Jackson. The \u2018issue\u2019 of the sanctity of life has always been central to Catholicism<\/strong> starting, literally, at the beginning, \u201cLet us make man in our image, after our likeness.\u201d (Genesis 1:26)<\/span><\/p>\nGenesis \u201cplaces man at the summit of God\u2019s creative activity<\/strong>, as its crown. Abortion in the Middle Ages<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Catholic social teaching is built on three foundational principles –\u00a0<\/strong>Human Dignity<\/strong>,\u00a0Solidarity\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Subsidiarity.\u00a0<\/strong>Human Dignity, embodied in a correct understanding of the human person, is the greatest. The others flow from it. Claims that the Catholic Church’s position on<\/span> (abortion)<\/a> is new or has changed (or are changeable) are false and misleading. The Church has always taught<\/strong> that to be \u201cpro-life\u201d is to defend life as sacred from conception to natural death.<\/span><\/p>\n
The Church has consistently taught abortion is a tragedy.<\/span><\/p>\n When Catholics profess life is sacred \u201cfrom womb to tomb\u201d, we really mean it!<\/span><\/p>\n What is pro-life? In the last century the entire world was scandalized over what the Nazis were doing to maintain the purity of the race.
