Conversations between \u2018pro-lifers\u2019 and \u2018pro-choicers\u2019 can abruptly end, no matter how substantive the conversation has been, with a resounding, \u201cIt\u2019s my choice<\/strong>! It\u2019s none of your business!<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n Does abortion truly come down to the private and autonomous decision of the mother?<\/p>\n Catholic teaching unreservedly proclaims, \u201cNO!\u201d \u201cSo great is the value of a human life<\/strong>, and so inalienable the right to life<\/strong> of an innocent child growing in the mother\u2019s womb, that no alleged right<\/strong> to one\u2019s own body can justify a decision to terminate that life<\/strong>, which is an end in itself and which can never be considered the\u00a0\u2018property\u2019<\/strong> of another human being.\u201d (Pope Francis, 86)<\/a><\/p>\n A new life<\/strong> has begun! The child is not the mother\u2019s body. \u2018freedom of choice\u2019 argument – the backbone of cultural, social, and political justification of abortion \u2013 \u201creveals its more sinister and disturbing aspect<\/strong> in the
